The Guinea Man dreams
I remember needing the money,
because I didn’t have a home.
And “they” needed a subject for an experiment-
“they” paid me well, then “they” put me to sleep . . .

And I dreamed: that someone held a flame
on the back of my legs behind the knees- or so it felt.
But then I remembered- being knee-deep in venomous spiders-
someone was just draining the pus . . .

And I dreamed: that the flame moved to my groin;
it felt as though someone was running a razor along the underside of my penis,
but then I remembered the many injections “they” made
just above my groin . . . thought I was healing . . .

But my chest began to burn, felt as though many hands
began prying it apart . . . and “they” were . . .
“they” were . . . tearing me apart . . .

“So much pus”, I heard someone say.
“This one’s no good . . .”
I heard another, “Throw it away . . .”
Throw me away . . .
