Something Rotten
This Way Comes

I
Father sat me down one Night
and told me all of life’s a lie.
Mother left us long ago-
in Morphine’s dream she died a whore.
And soon we’d both be sick-
Then the air began to hum:
something rotten this way comes

II
Black jackals ooze up from the ground;
I see red pigs mating in garbage
while maggot-lemmings crawl out.
Insect pariah crawls on its teeth-
and fat rats with black, blistered flesh
lie beneath the old wings of a gargoyle hulk
which makes this vision quite unique . . .

III
The digital retards see the darkness too late
as black limbs catch the children at a playground-
cutting and eating the waifs as they play.
And the witch sisters next door to us-
the inside-out boys are with them too-
we all begin to chant and hum-
something rotten this way comes

IIII
And we know that this is but a part of a cycle-
a rotten thing of Essen-Sheoul
is changing the landscape-
Small nude femmes with bulging eyes
follow behind the rock-layered beast-
planting the seeds for an orchard-
an orchard of many Corpse Trees . . .

We all begin to chant and hum-
something rotten this way comes
