Quest For An Inner Piece

I am beyond ancient;
I’m always searching,
but never quite finding,
the “soul” within my subjects.

This never ending quest for an inner piece has left my tongue blackened;
and flesh between my teeth . . .

Alas my reptile love,
Will we ever find the “piece”?
The almighty organ that lives after Death: the eternal lie.
I think not.
A man dismembered, dissected;
limbs and torso flayed open to draw air.
At first my probing is delicate, then frantic;
where’s the fucking “soul”?!

A dead woman still warm;
there are chains from my cock
they’re attached to her breasts.
I pull until she tears . . .

And there within her ruined chest is a mouth with many teeth,
and many eyes glazed in mortem.
I pity this thing I’ve destroyed . . .

In my search to find the mythic “soul”, I’ve learned many a dark art.
My never ending quest for an inner piece has left my mind blackened;
and flesh between my teeth . . .
